BMW recalls G 310 R, G 310 GS and C 400 X in USA and GB

After Great Britain, BMW is now also recalling the G 310 R, G 310 GS and the C 400 X scooter in the USA. This is due to corrosive brake calipers.

At the end of April BMW in Great Britain initiated a recall campaign for the G 310 R (from 2016) and the sister model GS (from 2017) due to corroding brake calipers.

Now the US traffic safety authority NHTS also demands a recall for the same reason and for the same motorcycles plus the scooter C 400 X (year of construction 2019).

The brake pistons can get stuck in the calipers manufactured by Indian Brembo subsidiary Bybre due to corrosion.
According to BMW, this can happen mainly in winter on roads wet with salt. No recall is planned for Germany yet.
