KTM has added another model variant to the 790 Adventure – the “Rally” version. The machine has an upgraded chassis with longer suspension travel and rally wheels.
With the 790 Adventure R Rally, KTM targets rally amateurs as well as demanding motorcycle globetrotters. The Adventure R, which donates frame and engine, serves as the basis. The big difference is in the suspension. A WP XPLOR PRO 7548 fork and a WP XPLOR PRO 6746 shock are used.
The fork works with cone valve technology, a valve system that combines virtually endless damping performance with comfort and protection against impact. Adjustments that can normally only be made by replacing the spacers can also be made from the outside. The unrestricted opening capability of the Cone Valve reduces the hardness of the suspension.
The fully adjustable shock has components with lower friction than the standard version, which improves response.
The front and rear travel increases by 30 millimetres, raising the seat height to 910 mm.
The narrower spoked wheels are optimised for use with sports tyres, but require the use of tubes.
The rally package also includes an Akrapovič rear silencer, carbon fibre tank protector, the Quickshifter Plus and a larger windshield.
